Print and eBook Publishing

Searing Sun Press is offering print and eBook publishing services to Golden Lantern authors.

We know that many Golden Lantern poets, whose work appears on this site, and our readers, take their own work very seriously. We are proud to announce that Searing Sun Press is making publishing services available to those poets and writers who wish them. They will help you print collections of your work as attractive books, booklets, and eBooks, and help you promote them, as well.

SSP provides turnkey publishing of your work from start to finish, or individual services, whether it just be a printed book, or just help with editing.

Editing. They offer editing services for $15 per hour.

eBook Publishing. They will convert your documents into eBooks (in the most widely used format, Adobe PDF files). The software they use (Fineprint) enables them to incorporate security features, such as disabling Save and Print features. You would then have control over whether your document could be reproduced without your expressed consent.

Print Publishing. SSP can print your work in two formats:

• booklet (saddlestapled)
• book (perfect bound paperback format)

Cover Stock. Cover stock will range from 8 pt to 10 pt coated stock, 1 side or 2 sides glossy coated. Printing is done on a laser printer with color gradation in text available. The booklet or book size is usually 5 1/2x 8 1/2", which is a standard sheet folded in half. However, they could also print manuscript size booklets or books, as well. All booklets are saddlestapled, and have 1 side coated glossy covers, 10 pt. thickness. Paper weight is usually 24 lbs. For larger number of pages, 20 lb. paper could be used. Text printed on laser printer.

Premium Publishing Services. They could also provide professional quality labels with an ISBN number on each type of publication (including eBooks). This is the industry standard that is used for identification purposes and ordering, so your work could be offered for sale in bookstores and online distributors, as Amazon.com.
